Winter
December to February are the coldest months to trek, with the shortest days and the fewest people. There is often a lot of snow on the ground, especially above Namche Bazaar, and getting to EBC can sometimes be very difficult or impossible. Many of the higher villages are abandoned for the winter.
Spring
March, April, and May are some of the busier months and for good reason. The days are getting warmer, the weather is mostly stable and the climbing season is in full swing. This is the only time of year when you can see EBC full of tents and climbers. It really is an amazing sight from Namche Bazaar, Everest View Hotel, and Kala Patthar. In the lower valleys, the flowers are blooming on the Rhododendrons and the terraced fields turn green with new shoots of vegetables.
Summer
From June to August the summer monsoons bring rain and snow. There are fewer visitors during these months, although some of the most beautiful, warm, blue-skied days occur now. Usually, by the afternoon, there is a rainstorm or snow higher up. Sometimes flights to & from Lukla are canceled for a few days due to weather making travel a little less reliable.
Autumn
This is the most popular time to visit the Khumbu. September through November is a time of steady weather patterns, less precipitation, and cleaner air. The lodges are full and everyone is friendly. If you enjoy meeting new friends, want the best chance for great weather and don’t mind an empty, this is the best trekking season.

Most amazing experience I ever had! I highly recommend it to everyone I know. The most competent and kind hearted guide. He was patient when I was walking slowly, and had an answer to almost every question about the nature and wildlife. I did the Everest BC which was tough but astonishingly beautiful. Would go again in a heartbeat!

Had the most amazing trip! And Ram was the best guide you could wish for. He was so sweet to invite us to his brother's wedding, and show us another part of Nepal than most tourists experience.

In October/November 2013 we did one of our most amazing and extremely eventful trek - ever :
The13 days trek in Nepal from Lukla to Everest Base Camp, Himalaya (and back aging).
'we' means : my wife(a.t. age 56) ,our oldest son( 33 )and myself(59) so not younger people all of us :-)
A trek we always return to and still remember with a great joy and big pleasure, still now nearly 3 years
after.
And why ? The Nature, of course, first of all ..... the landscape from Lukla over Phakding to Namche
(great) and further to Tyangboche - Dingbochee - Lobuche - Gorakhsep and EBC and the all way back via Pheriche
to Lukla.... the landscape ! that slowly are changing when you are go higher and higher. From lush green to
more 'Himalaya like' : rocks and mountains raising up with so glittering snow-white peaks and a deep blue
clear sky ,with the bright beautiful and yellow sun just shines down to you through it all, a quiet and
comfortable pace we did, no hurry ,time to experience and time to enjoy it all.
The many suspensions bridges we walked over ,the fantastic view looking back, , the ice-cold green and
gushing river you see from time to time, the yaks you meet and the big smiling and most friendly Nepal
people you meet on your path and in little villages you passes :
Every day was a new day with new experiences.
Yes I admit ,and you can say it was a little bit hard form time to time, I was a little bit fatigued when we
stood at EBC , but! not one minute ! or moment I would lose - never.
The way back to Lukla ..we nearly flew - it goes down , you get more oxygen and more energy and still you
have a lots to see.
Well ,there are so much more to tell and write about this trip, but I have to stop here - I just recommend..
"try it your selves.", you will not be disappointed.
