Our office representative will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport upon your arrival and then transfer you to the hotel. Take some rest at the hotel and later visit Create Himalaya Adventure’s office. A welcome dinner will be offered in the evening along with a tour briefing by our team.

After breakfast, you begin your sightseeing tour by visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites within Kathmandu.
Kathmandu Durbar Square:-
Kathmandu Durbar Square showcases Nepalese art and architecture at its best. The architecture is typical of the Malla dynasty who ruled over Nepal from the 12th to the 18th century.
Swyambhunath:-
Swyambhunath Temple is popular among foreigners as the Monkey Temple owing to the large monkey population residing in the area.
Pasupatinath:-
Pasupatinath Temple is situated on the banks of the Bagmati River and is one of the principal temples of Lord Shiva.
Boudhanath Stupa:-
The Boudhanath Stupa is one of the largest stupa's in South Asia. Meet your guide at the office and prepare for your trip.

Cross the small river over a suspension bridge. Then our trail descends down to Tamor Riverwalk through villages and terraced fields. Some irregular villages give us an opportunity to meet local people. Upon arriving at Tamor River, we follow some narrow trails close to the river. Then gradual uphill trail through the terraced fields and few houses take to the village of Mitlung.

Follow the river bank, through small villages and jungles. A suspension bridge over a small river keeps on engaged on the business of serious trekking. Small tea breaks give us plenty of opportunities to encounter with local people and have a look over wild bee hives hanging over the cliffs. Upon arriving at Chirwa, we can make small exploration to Cave nearby.

We gradually gain the elevation following the river bank of Tamor. You need extra courage to cross to cross some of the suspension bridge that comes along the way. After we cross Taplethok village we can see cardamom farmyards. In recent years cardamom farming has become one of the good sources of earning for local people. Cross the river over a suspension bridge and follow the gradual uphill trail to Lelep. From Lelep the trail is downhill until the Ghunsa River. Upon crossing Ghunsa River, we come to Sekathum.

Our trek gradually ascending and following the Ghunsa River and cross the river again to our left side. A short steep uphill walk takes us to bit high and keep the distance with Ghunsa River. En route we pass some alienated houses of people and dense forests. We pass a beautiful waterfall on our left-hand side just before Amjilasa.

The trail through a dense forest of bamboo and rhododendron is accompanied by the river. On crossing Sungbung Khola over a suspension bridge the trail gets steep up. Enjoy the beautiful waterfall next to Gyabla Village the river. Perform short walk which takes you to the village of Gyabla.

Today after breakfast trail descends to the river and cross it. Then we track further north. Following the gradual uphill trail, we come to Phale. This is Tibetan refugee settlement. You can get a chance to buy some local handicraft products. Our trail continues further through Juniper forest which is followed by Ghunsa Village.

Though today is a rest day, it's better to keep your feet busy so that it doesn't get lazy. Explore the village preserved by Sherpa people. The village is towered by tall peaks and guarded my mountains. Get to know the Sherpa culture and explore the monastery.

From Ghunsa we advance further to north through gradual uphill and pastures abundance of wildflowers. We cross Ghunsa River just before Rampuk Kharak over a wooden rough bridge. After Rampuk Kharka, a beautiful waterfall and a glimpse of Mt. Jannu greet us and inspire to go further and we arrive at Kambachen in the evening you can see yak pasture stone made huts and blues sheep as well.

We start the walk through meadows. Then a long gradual walk through the moraine along the riverside takes us the Ramtang Monastery. After Ramtang Monastery we can have the first glimpse of Kanchenjunga Glacier. We have some beautiful glimpse of giant mountains. A final descent takes us the Lhonak, It Surrounded by high mountains and dry slopes.

Today you will be enjoying followed Kanchenjunga glacier that gradually takes us to Pangpema/Kanchenjunga North Base Camp (5280m). The trail is to steep we need to be careful while walking. Enjoy the stunning view of Mt. Jannu, Mt. Kanchenjunga and Mt. Chang. Then we retrace back to Lhonak.

We descend gradually through glacier and moraine facing the massive mountains all the way. Cross the river over a small wooden bridge and here comes the Ghunsa.

The gradual downhill trail takes us to Yamntari Khole (River). Upon crossing the river over a suspension bridge we track further to south through Juniper and Rhododendron forest. The forest is decorated with plenty of prayer flags. Subsequently, the trail ascends to Sele La (Pass). We cross the pass and get down to the river. Cross the river and conclude the day at Sinion La Base Camp.

Today we will be crossing over three high passes. It is going to be high scenic traverses as there is only little descent between the passes. We mount gradually to the pass of Sinion La 4400 m and climb to Mirgin la 4500 which offer a magnificent view over Jannu Himal and Makalu, Baruntse rises in distance. After final ascend of Sinelapche Pass (4650m) we have steep descent. Our final camp will be at a small village of Tseram with few stone huts.

We ascend gradually alongside the Sinbuwa Khola and pass alongside yulung Glacier. The icy winds from the icy wall will test your resistance and Rathong, Kabru, Kokthang range greets you on the way and we will camp at a large flat ground in Ramze with changes to see the flock of Blue Sheep.

Today we will explore the south base camp of Kanchenjunga. We follow the Simbuwa Khola and yulung glacier upward through the curved valley and suddenly we confront with the southern wall of the mountain with the superb panoramic view of three Giant mountain of the eastern Himalaya the Kanchenjunga 8586, Kanchenjanga center 8473, Kanchenjunga south 8476, similarly the Jannu Himal on the north-west and the massive glacier formed between the ice wall.

With all the spectacular beauty of the Kanchenjunga south we retrace our way back to Tseram and flowing the Simbuwa Khola entering through the dense rhododendron forest we descend steep downhill to our campsite at Tortong.

We have steep uphill walk until the Lasiya Bhanjyang(3310m). From Lasiya Bhanjyang, the trail change and descend down to Chitre and further to Yamphudin following lush green rhododendron forest and landscapes. Yamphudin is a small village of indigenous people Gurung, Rai, and Limbu.

Today trail down to Kabeli Khola. Upon crossing Kabeli Khola over the suspension bridge, our trail gradually descends to Rate Khola. From Rate Khola we have steep uphill climb until Ekchana Bhanjyang. Then descending through forest and terraced fields, we come to Kabeli Khola again. After crossing the river we climb to Mamankhe followed by another descend to Kabeli Khola again. After crossing the river we follow mix trail of up and downhill to Khesewa.

The downhill walk through the forest and few villages take us to Kande Bhanjyang. Then trail descends to Simbu passing terraced fields and few settlements. Final uphill trail of the day takes us to the village of Lalikharka.

As we leave the valley, we continue ascending along the ridge for about 3 hours to Taplejung village. We can wander around the village getting familiar with village life, cultural richness, custom and village people.

3-4 hours of drive from Phidim will bring us to Biratnagar and then we take a flight to Kathmandu. Transfer to the hotel upon arrival.

1. I hadn't tried trekking till date. Should I have to do training for Kanchenjunga Trekking?

If you are physically fit, you don’t need any training for trekking even if it’s your first time. You must walk for a 5-7 hour per day during the trek and the trail are uphill and downhill with a rough path so that you must be physically fit. And we had set such itinerary that’s make the trek a bit easier and more adventurous. The more you are physically fit, the more you can enjoy the trek.

2. Is Kanchenjunga Trekking difficult?

This trekking destination is comparatively hard trek then other but it’s ok if you are physically fit. The Kanchenjunga base camp trekking is of 24 days as you must walk for the 5 -7 hours per day for the 19 days. The trekking trail is rough, uphill and downhill. As the trial is not paved so the trial is rocky somewhere, so you must be careful if you have a weak ankle and the trail are also filled with the snow depending upon the season.

3. What sort of different facilities can I expect in the trekking trail?

You can expect standard room at 3-star category hotel with the breakfast and launch in Kathmandu. But along the trekking trail, there are the tea houses and lodges providing the facility of accommodation and food. They provide the clean mattress and blanket as we offer you a Create Himalaya sleeping bag which is a good idea to have your own sleeping equipment (Sleeping bag must be returned after the trip). The lodges in trekking routes provide single or double bedrooms. The food during the trekking trial provided by the tea houses/lodges is delicious of mostly vegetarian fare. During the time of touring in the city area, you can be served with the local food as well as western food. Trekking in the high Himalaya, you will be served with the basic western food and local food. The local foods like Tibetan’s fries’ bread, soups, steamed and fried dumplings (momo), steamed and curried vegetable (Tarkari), different varieties of potatoes, lentils, and rice (dal - bhat). Different varieties of meats are also served by the tea house. The tea house served the eggs, toast, peanut butter, hot porridge, muesli, and local honey in the breakfast.

Each day dinner and breakfast will be at the lodges/tea houses where we’ll stay. And for a launch, we will stop on the trail where you can order a meal as per your choice. Our Guide will help you to stop at the best possible places to eat.

4. Is travel insurance needed for trekking?

Yes, you need travel insurance including the mountain trekking or mountain climbing. You must assure that your travel insurance policy covers this destination. Some of the insurance company do not cover expenses above contain altitude. A rescue cost $5,000 just for the helicopter. So, it is the most need for the coverage of the expenses.

5. What if I am sick during trekking period?

Our guides had a trekking certificate from the Tourism center. They are trained about the first-aid training for high altitude too besides other training and they always carry the essential first-aid kit during trekking trial. So that they can take care of you in the minor case in the mountains as our guide are 24 hours available for the service during trek.

But, in the case of emergency, our Guide carries the local sim card to be in contact with the office in Kathmandu. Our guide keeps on updating the situation of the Client, then the office will be managed to send the Helicopter in the trail if the client is seriously sick in the mountain.

6. Can I add the extra days to my trekking route?

Yes, you can add the extra days to explore the destination. But, you must pay the extra charge to the company to cover your expenses for the accommodation, food, transportation, and the charge of the Guide and Porter for the extra days.

7. What is the alternative option of the trekking destination beside Kanchenjunga Base camp trekking?

8. How do I book this trip with your company?

At first, you must fill-up the form with your personal detail and trip detail with the date you preferred to start the trip, then you must send the 30% advance trip payment to our company in our bank account to secure your booking. But, if you cancel the trip then 10% advance trip payment will be non-refundable and 20% will be refunded on your account.

On receiving your 30% advance trip payment and following personal document like a passport with scanned or photocopy, along with booking forms, then we will send you a full confirmation letter with the deposit as well as receipt of advance trip payment.

Trip Introduction

The word Kanchenjunga is derived from the “Kang-Chen-Zod-Nga” means the “Five Great Treasuries of the Snow” The mountain is the host for the seven major summits and the largest avalanches anywhere else in the world.

The journey to Kanchenjunga - one of the isolated trekking destination begins with an awesome flight from Kathmandu to Biratnagar in the east of Nepal, followed by a drive to Basantapur (2220m) from where you head north to the villages of Chauki with an altitude of 2700m, Jorja Gaon 2000m, Amjilasa  2490m, Ghunsa (3340m), Khambachen  4040m and at last but not least, Lhonak with an altitude of 4790m to Pangpema with an altitude of 5140m serves as the Base Camp for the pinnacle of the first part of the trek. 

 

Then retrace your steps to the village of Ghunsa and back to Taplejung or Tumlingtar for an awesome flight back or head east over the Lapsang La (5110m) to Tseram and Ramze and then to the Yalung Glacier (4800m) towards the south that completes the second part of your journey. 

 

From here you start on your return journey heading south through the villages of Torontan, Yamphudin, Mamankhe and Keswa to Taplejung from where you will board a flight to Biratnagar and then fly out to Kathmandu.
