Trip Introduction

Coming from the lush, green valleys of Nepal, you will be blown away by this starkly beautiful high-altitude desert, bordered to the south by some of the Himalaya’s highest mountains. The Mustang region of Nepal is incredibly sculpted canyons and ancient fortress-villages and all set against the backdrop of the soaring snow-peaks of the Himalayas.
You will ride through the southern part of the ancient Kingdom of Lo, which is tucked away at the headwaters of the ‘deepest gorge in the world’, the Kali Gandaki river. While the northern part is a restricted area, Trekker is free to ride and explore the trails here in Lower Mustang, to enjoy the hospitality of our friendly hosts and to experience the incredible diversity of Nepal. Traveler can immerse ourselves in the cultural melting pot of the Kathmandu Valley and spend time in the ancient trading communities which lie on our trail, which happens to be along the ancient trade route to Tibet in 10 days.
The area has amazing single trails that will appeal to All Mountain and Enduro riders as well as jeep trails and less dramatic single trails which will bring a smile to the face of any Mountains Biker.

When is the Best season for trekking in Annapurna region?

Winter

December to February are the coldest months to trek, with the shortest days and the fewest people. There is often a lot of snow on the ground, especially above Jomsom and getting to Destination can sometimes be very difficult or impossible.

Spring

March, April, and May are some of the busier months and for good reason. The days are getting warmer, the weather is mostly stable and the climbing season is in full swing. It really is an amazing sight from Jomsom Muktinath and Lo-Manthang. In the lower valleys, the flowers are blooming on the Rhododendrons and the terraced fields turn green with new shoots of vegetables.

Summer

From June to August the summer monsoons bring rain and snow. There are fewer visitors during these months, although some of the most beautiful, warm, blue-sky days occur now. Usually, by the afternoon, there is a rainstorm or snow higher up.

Autumn

This is the most popular time to visit the Annapurna Area. September through November is a time of steady weather patterns, less precipitation, and cleaner air. The lodges are full and everyone is friendly. If you enjoy meeting new friends, want the best chance for great weather and don’t mind an empty, this is the best trekking season.
