- Increased risk of weather delays
- More demanding summit conditions
Winter climbs are best suited to experienced mountaineers seeking a more remote and demanding adventure.
Monsoon Season (June to August)

Monsoon Challenges:
- Wet and muddy trekking trails
- Limited mountain views
- Increased risk of landslides and transportation delays

Travel Insurance for Chulu East Peak Climbing
Travel insurance is a mandatory requirement for Chulu East Peak Climbing. As this expedition reaches an altitude of 6,584 meters and involves trekking in remote mountain regions, comprehensive insurance coverage is essential for your safety and financial protection.
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance before arriving in Nepal and ensuring that your policy specifically covers high-altitude trekking and peak climbing activities.
What Should Your Insurance Cover?
Your travel insurance policy should include:
- Emergency helicopter evacuation up to 7,000 meters
- High-altitude trekking and peak climbing coverage
- Medical treatment and hospitalization expenses
- Search and rescue operations
- Emergency evacuation and repatriation
- Trip cancellation or interruption
- Lost, stolen, or damaged baggage
- Flight delays and missed connections
- Personal accident coverage
Why Is Helicopter Evacuation Coverage Important?
Chulu East Peak Climbing takes place in a remote alpine environment where road access is unavailable. In the event of severe altitude sickness, injury, illness, or other emergencies, helicopter evacuation may be the only safe option.
Helicopter rescue operations in Nepal can cost several thousand dollars, and without proper insurance, climbers are responsible for covering these expenses themselves.
Altitude Coverage Requirements
Many standard travel insurance policies only cover trekking up to 4,000 or 5,000 meters. Since Chulu East Peak reaches 6,584 meters, it is important to verify that your policy specifically covers:
- Trekking above 5,000 meters
- Mountaineering or trekking peak climbing
- Emergency rescue at the maximum expedition altitude
Always read the policy details carefully before purchasing insurance.
Insurance Documents
Before the expedition begins, please provide Create Himalaya Adventure with:
- A copy of your travel insurance certificate
- Emergency contact details
- Policy number and insurer information
- Emergency assistance contact number
These details allow us to coordinate quickly with your insurance provider if an emergency occurs.
Our Recommendation
For your safety and peace of mind, we strongly advise obtaining a comprehensive travel insurance policy that includes high-altitude trekking, peak climbing, and helicopter rescue coverage. While we take every precaution to ensure a safe and successful expedition, proper insurance is one of the most important preparations for any Himalayan adventure.
Travel insurance is not included in the Chulu East Peak Climbing package and must be arranged independently before your arrival in Nepal.
